A reader that gets out of the way

Comfort isn’t a preset.
It’s personal.

Shape the page around your eyes, your hands, and the moment you’re reading in.

01

Typography with range

Tune size, spacing, margins, columns, colors, and publisher styles. Install your own fonts and save the whole setup as a reusable preset.

02

Listen, naturally

Natural neural voices that run entirely on your device, plus system voices, speed control, sentence highlighting, and a sleep timer.

03

Move at your pace

Adaptive auto-scroll follows your preferred reading speed in paginated or continuous layouts.

04

Your hands, your controls

Assign tap zones, four-direction swipes, keyboard shortcuts, and remote buttons to the actions you use most.

One library, every kind of reading

Bring the shelf
you already own.

Import from Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, a URL, or the share sheet. Connect OPDS, Calibre, and WebDAV libraries. Everything stays available offline.

Useful intelligence, without the cloud

Remember more.
Reveal nothing.

Folire uses the text already on your device. Your book never needs to become someone else’s data.

Export highlights and annotations as Markdown, plain text, JSON, or CSV.

The reader landscape

Built for ownership,
not an ecosystem.

Reader apps make different tradeoffs across format support, storefront access, privacy, and library tools. Folire focuses on private, durable tools for the library you control.

Private by architecture

Your reading life
isn’t a product.

Folire requires no Folire account and has no advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, or developer-operated server. Books live in private app storage. Optional iCloud library sync uses your private iCloud account.

  • 01 Books stay on your devices and in your private iCloud storage if you enable sync
  • 02 Search, reading questions, and narration run locally
  • 03 Your library works offline
  • 04 Your annotations export in open formats

Good questions

A few things
worth knowing.

Which formats does Folire support?+

DRM-free EPUB, PDF, CBZ, CBR, TXT, FB2, MOBI, and AZW3 books, plus MP3, M4A, and M4B audiobooks. Folire cannot remove or bypass DRM.

Does Folire upload my books?+

Imported books are copied into Folire’s private local storage. If you enable iCloud library sync, Folire uploads book files and reading data to your private iCloud storage so you can open your books on another device. Folire does not upload books to a developer-operated server.

Is Folire a subscription?+

No. The free version supports a five-book library and reads every book aloud with Standard system voices, plus neural narration for one book. Folire Pro is a one-time $14.99 purchase for unlimited books and every advanced feature, including Enhanced, Premium, and all 15 neural voices.

How do the neural voices work?+

Folire’s neural voices use Kokoro, an open text-to-speech model that runs entirely on your iPhone or iPad, so what you read never leaves it. The voices are an optional download from the App Store in Settings › Narration. They read English books, need iOS 26.4 or later, and use more battery than system voices.

Which languages does the app support?+

Folire’s interface is available in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

Can I connect my own library server?+

Yes. Folire supports OPDS 1 and 2 catalogs, Calibre Content Server, authenticated WebDAV, and direct book URLs.

When can I download it?+

Folire is available now for iPhone and iPad. Download it on the App Store.
